Finally the long awaited NuDock arrived at my doorstep after months of waiting and emails went unanswered. This was an Indiegogo project and the link is over here. This project started in April and went into production in June, the promised delivery date was August and it was delayed multiple times resulting in very angry backers. I ordered it in July and thus was not as pissed as those who started backing them way earlier. Check out the gallery below for the unboxing and with details accompanying each pic.
My experience with Shark Design was not pleasant to say the least, their communication was really really bad and it was actually non-existent. It is more of a one-sided response from them and never to any of the backers. Emails went unanswered and no tracking numbers provided. You just have to wait and hope for the best if your product arrives before christmas. Some people have actually got paypal to refund them but i hang on hoping to receive it by this month and indeed it was. But the surprising thing this thing was found in Amazon and went for sale for USD$79 when backers paid USD$199 for it. Aren't backers supposed to pay lesser for supporting early? This is clearly not a right business practise and i feel ripped off judging from the response on the website below.
Enough about the complain, now to do the actual review via the gallery.
All in all, i give the product 3.5/5. The dimmer could have been better adjusted to very dim as the most dim is too bright in a room without lights. The LED lights are really bright! Some edges could have been polished smoother (not sure is it due to rush job of production?) on the NuDock and Nuki. Better user instructions in the manual is preferred as i had to figure out how to charge the Nuki. No instruction what to do with the many rubber support connectors. But still happy with the product as it can charge 4 devices at the same time (iPhone, Nuki, Apple Watch and the back sports a rapid charge port to charge my son's Samsung Note 3).
