Many mobile users in Singapore will surely welcome this piece of good news! Mobile Warfare is coming soon "lai liao lai liao" because of yesterday's report regarding Singapore's Upcoming 4th Telco (if they get the license) MyRepublic annoucement that they will offer subscribers unlimited data for only $80 a month. Taking into account the average contract for 300 mins of outgoing talktime + 3GB of Data (ignore the additional 2GB under Singtel Wifi) for about $60 monthly, this is indeed good news to all mobile users! I have been bursting my monthly quota as my kids tend to use my phone for their you-tubing while on the move until i subscribed to a separate mobile broadband plan costing me about $25 for 6GB of data. MyRepublic is also going to offer the cheapest mobile plan in Singapore at a monthly cost of $8.
Singtel has now come out with a counter-measure to retain it's existing customers and also to entice new customers on board before MyRepublic has the right to sell by offering subscribers DOUBLE the data with a small addition of $5.90 to their bill. Please take note that it is only for new subscribers and RE-contracting customers only.
We are spoilt for choice now!
M1 has now come out with their own data upsize plan at the same cost and now subscribers are spoilt for choice. Starhub has yet annouce anything but i am sure they will not want to lose out and news should follow shortly on their price plans.
Starhub was late to the game but it seems like they have a pretty good deal at just $3 (promo price this month only) if you sign up or recontract.
Let's take a look at the plans dished out by Singtel, Starhub and M1 currently for this Data Upsize.
