Just slightly over 2 weeks ago, Samsung unveiled their latest flagship Note 7 in Singapore and it is being recalled worldwide after multiple reports of exploding batteries caused panic and stocks plummet for Samsung. Samsung will be announcing how the recall works and they are currently working with telcos over the world to replace the handsets for customers. It seems like currently China is not affected by the recall as the battery was manufactured by a different company.
Samsung has shipped over 2.5 million units of the latest Galaxy series since it's launch on 19 Aug and this recall will definitely cause a huge dent in their rivalry between Apple and china rivals. Apple is set to unveil their latest iPhone (probably named iPhone 7) on 7 Sep. Apple's latest offering need some strong selling points to counter the initial strong sales of Samsung Note 7, otherwise this recall will not stop short of Samsung fan boys moving towards Apple. I am quite tempted to switch over to Note 7 and this recall cast a doubt in my mind. I shall wait for Apple to unveil their latest phone in the coming days, meanwhile Samsung fanboys sit tight and keep calm.
